Unscheduled Maintenance

[This unscheduled maintenance was completed 🙂 ]

Hiya. I apologize for the short notice but I will be doing some small maintenance on all servers tomorrow, Thursday, June 29th starting at 2AM SLT. This maintenance shouldn’t affect streaming and should only last an hour (or less) but as we all know with technology things happen so if anything goes awry I will let you know immediately or if it affects you in anyway PLEASE reach out as soon as it occurs so I know.

Also a reminder that for Scheduled Maintenance (server restarts), that is posted on it’s own page. We will have a restart on July 17th (on Monday instead of having it on the 15th on a weekend day). We no longer have the premium support as now restarts of streams (including AutoDJ) after any maintenance is now *included* with your account.

Once these 9 Immortal Streams are taken, I will no longer be offering the Immortal Streams. They will be vaulted indefinitely. Why you may ask? Because they were only offered to give something different than any other company has ever done. To offer something to help lower someone’s cost in their Second Life because we all know how rough our 1st life can be. But as with all good things, they do eventually come to an end and so it is now just time for us to no longer offer this option. We appreciate those who love theirs and have supported us by snatching one. We truly hope you enjoy the no fees on your stream and that it makes your SLife better 🙂

Infrastructure Upgrades and Temporary Downtime on Second Life Marketplace

“Hello, Second Life creators and shoppers! In our constant efforts to enhance your shopping experience, we will be doing some infrastructure updates. While this is undoubtedly a positive step towards a more robust platform, it means there will be a brief period of downtime. We understand the inconvenience this may cause, and hope to minimize it!

Scheduled Downtime:

On Wednesday, May 31st, we will conduct a scheduled maintenance update that requires approximately one hour of downtime. During this period, the Second Life Marketplace will be temporarily inaccessible. Please note that during this downtime all shopping carts will be reset. This means that any items currently in your shopping cart will not be saved.
We don’t want you to lose any items you had been keeping in your cart to purchase later, so please consider taking these steps below to keep track of them.

Preparing for the Update:

To mitigate any inconvenience caused by the shopping cart reset, we recommend taking the following steps:

1. Finalize Your Purchases: Before the scheduled maintenance, we advise completing any pending transactions in your shopping cart. This will ensure that you don’t miss out on any items you intended to purchase.

2. Make a List: Consider keeping the items you aren’t ready to purchase in either your favorites or your wishlist (you could even share your wishlist with your friends if you’d like!). This way, you can come back to them whenever you’re ready.

We know it’s disruptive and we appreciate your patience while we work to upgrade the marketplace. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.

UPDATE:

This should be working for some and may show SSL errors. Bear with us within the 48 hours for the domain to propagate properly. Your stream shouldn’t be affect – just the ability to log into the control panel and only on server ending in 242 (hostcrate.rocks). Thank you for understanding. –Lexxi

The issue is all fixed – sorta. You may need to clear your browser/cache history for it to appear or you may need to wait up to 48 hours for it to propagate for your side. An update to the URL has been done so the login will be switched from hostcrate.rocks to cp2.hostcrate.rocks so please be aware of that. I will send notice when that has been done.

I am officially going to remove all data from the CasperLET website now that I have moved everything over. I kept it for a few months just in case I did mess something up or forgot someone somehow.

The Old Pricing

The old pricing has been put back into place. I hope everyone comes to understand where I was coming from in my pricing increase to begin with: to cover overhead & be able to make a living to be able to help with RL bills that takes care of my own family like a job should be doing. I have had a lot of heart to heart conversations since January after the increase took place and after I had lowered it again…I decided that I would put the old pricing back into place. I have clearly made a lot of those who relied on me upset and for that I really am sorry. I have cut things that aren’t necessary anymore to lower my overhead both inworld & in RL. Hopefully this upcoming beta will work out to finding a datacenter with a bit more affordability for their servers without compromising the service. I will be looking for help in staffing like a Customer Service Rep and possibly someone to assist in marketing to get our name out there soon.

To help I will look into marketing our RL services outside of SL to cover the lower pricing we have inworld. I will also sell/process L$ in more of a bulk fashion so that Linden Lab’s 10% fee doesn’t sting as much. I’m brainstorming other things we could do to offset the cost as well like putting more effort into our clothing store (ThinkLMAO) or switching that into a sticker store…I haven’t decided that just yet.
